Equally, technological advancements can lead to a decrease in the number of people required if the work can be undertaken by machines or through technological capabilities (Maheshwari, 1997). In addition, an organization can be forced to hire qualified staff to manage new technologies that enhance productivity in the workplace (Williams, 2008).
